Is anyone else having problems with FedEx and UPS Next Day Air deliveries? This is my 5th time in a row, 3 for FedEx and 2 for UPS that they have missed a delivery date. FedEx has a nasty habit of sending out a “Delivered” notice (on time) but you don’t get your package until the next day (2nd Day Air).

UPS closed the distribution center on the southside where I would hold my package. I found out when they “delivered” my package to an ups store in a shopping center.
Still better than playing “when/will they come” but frustrating

IF it actually arrives today, UPS will have delivered something a day earlier than originally predicted for once.

But pretty much everything other than Amazon has been running kinda slow. USPS bounced my shipment of snails and daphnia around 2 or 3 days longer than it should have taken. Considering they came from the Savannah area, if anything I expected them sooner than the predicted max shipping time of 3 days.

And now with summer coming in rapidly, I'm pretty seriously disinclined to do any kind of livestock shipment via mail, what with all the other horror stories. I might wind up having to resort to getting my CUC online, but I think I'll be sticking with LFS' for everything else.

The common denominator is “destination Atlanta”.
This time, it was 2 hard to find swallowtail angelfish. I was really stoked to find these hoping one will turn into a male. If they don’t come today, those hopes and dreams will be crushed!

FedEx delivered to my neighbor. Notice the “THIS SIDE UP” label on the box. It sat in the sun until i picked it up at 2:30. One fish made it, the other bag leaked out and he died. They are sending me 2 more. I don’t need 3. Will be posting on for sale when it arrives hopefully tomorrow but Tuesday or Wednesday for sure. Asking $100

LMK, maybe I could do with one. Going to do some research after work to make sure it would get along with everyone else.

I had $500 worth of corals sit at my neighbors for the day, after a days delay. Luckily everything made it but that was a pain in the ass.

I'm not sure why, but I have always had really good luck with shipping! The only losses I've had in the past 8+ years have been from already sick animals. FedEx HAS popped a bag once, but I honestly blame that on a loosely floating baby clam with a razor sharp shell & the clam survived fine.
For context, I'm in south Cherokee county, in the hickory flat/Milton area, so maybe that has something to do with my luck?

Great peaceful fish and mostly on back order online. You can even have 2 if you have a 150 gallon or more. That’s why I’m getting them.

Yeah, you live in a county where all your delivery drivers are not smoking weed and therefore are able to move and think at a normal pace. Lol

That's my plan; restock now before the Georgia heat arrives but I’m pretty much done with buying live animals online, ALTHOUGH I find buying fish online to be pretty healthy these days. That’s pretty compelling when you’re looking for that hard to find fish.

15 years or so ago I had fantastic success with FedEx. I use to purchase FW fish a lot and never lost a single fish, never had a single delay. I'm not sure what's changed recently.

After that whole mess with NYAquatic and the tomini tang I'm not buying fish online again. They tried to delay the THIRD one in a row with a bs excuse. Spent most of the day with myself and Michael, the owner of NYAquatic, raising hell on the phone with UPS to find my package. It was sitting on a truck at the delivery hub 12 miles from my house. I was finally allowed to go pick it up that evening. Sadly, the stress was too much for the little guy...found him lying on the bottom of the tank the next morning. I said never again. It's worth paying full price (somewhat) locally to not deal with the added stress and aggravation that goes hand in hand with shipping these days.

Yeah, I'm not dealing with shipping a fish. I've heard to many stories like this. Let someone else deal with that risk.
