I am fairly new to aquariums.  I do have a quick question though.  I am trying to fill my tank from my brute trash can and was wondering if there was any way to fill it from the trash can without using a pump.  Up and down I have researched and I cannot seam to find any knowledge on it.  The trash can is too heavy and large to lift up and poor into the tank.  Also does anybody know what the top lip of the brute trash can is in gallons? Not the very top just the lip by the handles on the inside.

Thanks!!

Gravity is the only other way I can think of but I still use the 5 gallon buckets until I get a larger tank.

Other than manually using a bucket or pitcher to transfer the water, gravity is about your best bet.  Here is a volume calculator.

You must have skipped physics class lol.

Untill the unti-gravity device is ready, your current options are lift, pump or drain...

Going to go with the pump, thanks for the advice everyone!  Haninja I got away with geometry 1 and 2 haha skipped right through physics.
