Question, i'm currently taking my time on setting up a 180 with a 75 gallon sump, would 2 4" 200 micron filter socks work or would I need to venture down the 7" sock avenue?

I find that my two 3inch filter socks get clogged often, I am thinking of a different filter sick configuration. Personally I would go with larger option

Edit: I find myself washing filter socks often.

I use 4 - 4"/200 microns on my 180 but I have 2 sumps (actually 1 sump and 1 refugium). While, yes they begin to clog at about 4 days, you'll find the same with larger socks. It's not about how big around they are, it's about the micron size they are filtering. The smaller the micron, the faster they clog. You'll give up a lot of usable space by going with the larger sock.

I was leaning more towards the 7" socks anyways, just figured I would get some more input on the matter, it's an 18 inch wide tank i'm using as a sump so they would fit no question, I've heard the larger socks would probably would be easier to clean as well.
