Ok so I'm really really apprehensive about the whole bleach thing. I just started my cube back up had a filter sock rodi purigen laying around I want to throw in the tank so I soaked it over night in bleach. Now I am about to rinse it and then soak it for a little while in water with chlorine removal stuff then rinse again.

Should I be ok or should I go as far as getting a chlorine test kit to be sure

I just let it soak in a gal of ro and 3 caps of prime for a day after bleaching

That is sound advise.

If Purigen ever fully dries out, you might run into a situation where it shrinks small enough to escape the mesh bag. In the future, you might consider bleaching, rinsing with a bit of Prime, and then storing in a plastic ziplock bag if it's not going directly into the tank. Then, when you're ready vto use again, just a quick rinse and drop it in the tank.

It's best not to let Purigen completely dry out.....

I did not know that good to know now. It was a situation where I had a tank before broke it down got rid of it kept the purigen found the purigen when going through old stuff decided to use it. I got some prime laying around so I will do that
