Been trying to find the sweetspot (location) for dosing in my 93 display system (24g sump and 12g fuge). If I dose in the display it seems to throw my skimmer off for a bit but that's my highest flow location. If I dose in the return section of my sump there doesn't seem to be adequate flow and I have some sediment settled on the bottom after a month or so of dosing.

Where are you guys dosing on larger systems? I have to dose about 30ml of each daily right now to maintain Alk and CA.

That's what I tried when I was getting what appears to be calcium carbonate buildup on the bottom of the sump.

I manually dose my 120. I used to get the same thing. I used a powerhead in my return chamber to stir it in the water column. It quit doing it when I increased the size of my return pump. I havn't noticed a problem with my skimmer going crazy though.

if your using a dosing pump the amounts dosed each time should be to small to precipitate out no matter what.

besides if your levels are right who cares if you get calc buildup in the sump?
