I have a 54 gallon oceanic corner aquarium. Filtraton is live rock and a fluval 405 canister filter, lighting is PC. I don't plan on putting coral in there so i want to get some fish that cannot be kept in my reef tank. I have already set it up and cycled it but have had trouble deciding what to keep. I like fish with personality first and good coloration second. Can anybody give me some suggestions?

Thanks,
Brian.

A puffer is a good possibility. Plus, my wife loves them. I'm not sure what thier personalities are like. I'll need to look into that.

Depends on what your into but I have a purple rhinopias frondosa with a one spot foxb face and a blue regal tang in my 50 breeder. A few suggestions that I like personally is a miniatus grouper, radiata or anteattus lion, black dogface puffer. But those are just some off the top of my head. GOOD LUCK THOUGH

Smaller Porcupine Puffer (since your tank wont hold them for long) and a Huma Huma Trigger - both my favorite non-reep fish with tons of personality. Get them small so you can enjoy them before you have to switch them to a larger set up...excuse for an upgrade anyway :). Beware these guys put out a heck of a bio load...

Fu Manchu Lion or another dwarf lionfish. Pygmy Angel, maybe a potters or flame. Blue spot toby (puffer) they stay very small unlike a porcupine or dogface. If you did an eel I would consider a dwarf Golden moray only gets around a foot. A royal gramma and maybe a longnose hawkfish.

+1 Dwarf lion. Look at the dwarf angels that are real proven nippers though. Alot to choose from that you do not see in alot of tanks
