I have a frogspawn coral had it for about a year it originally had 4 head on 4 branches two of the heads fell off which left 2 those split about 3 times now there is 6 heads on 2 branches the other branches are bare and I haven't seen any more growth in branches the coral is covered in that red algae is there something I can do to make it branch more like cut off the dead branches thanks for any help

you can cut off the dead branches for looks but it wont help them branch more itll just happen naturally as they grow and it is largely dependent on the conditions in your tank such as flow, light and water chemistry as to how they branch and split.

I don't want to high jack but my Frogspawn has large air bubbles coming out where the mouth would be. Does anyone know what that is about?

No idea on the bubbles.

As for the "how to make it branch more" subject, feed it! Most LPS will grow rapidly when fed meaty foods... Frogspawns are no exception.

What do you feed your LPS? I dose Coral Frenzy/ Reef Snow and have had decent growth with my colonies over the past year.

Do you spot feed yours with anything like mysis?

You're on the right track... I meant "target feed 'em".

Just about anything will do - a high-protein mysis product, a chunky-style mix food like Rod's or similar, or even just getting a small raw scallop/clam at the grocery store and cutting up up into bits that can fit into its mouth(s).

not sure what causes it but i had that happen to one of mine and it would just come and go and i didnt see any ill effects to the coral so i wouldnt worry about it.
