So, when an anemone splits, does it do so at the mouth? I'm trying to figure out what is going on with my GBTA... You may have read an earlier post of mine starting to take a stroll around the aquarium after being immobile for 3 months. Well I woke up this morning to it split in two maybe three pieces, there is one that looks to be in a crevice. The color seems to be fine but it looks like it split at the mouth bc there is no longer a mouth. Any suggestions or comments?

Thanks
Nate

Yep, that's how they do it. Over the next week or two, each part will form a new mouth (using the edge that was part of the old mouth) and it will "move" toward the center of the anemone. Obviously they can't eat during the healing process, but they don't suffer any problems from this (it is a natural process, after all). The last time I had a split, the "mother" was taking silversides again within two weeks.
