Green Paly vs. Acro

My darn green palys have grown all the way close to my Acro and the Paly is winning-both on the same LR. I've tried the syringe with hot water to kill it off, but it's still hanging on. Has anyone tried blocking with a Milli piece? Would that work or would the paly win over a Milli?

Really? Now that my tank is really established and growing like mad, I am wondering how those with established tanks keep corals so close. Constant pruning?
