So despite the naysayers I paired up my gsm female successfully.
I had a friend buy a whole tank setup and didn't want the male. I just acclimated it to my tank and through him in. This is day three. I hear the wedding bells.

congrats... you are extremly lucky to have them pair so easily.. This is normally very hard and tedious to do. Maroons are very finicky to pair.. Im working on a few pairs right now, and its a challenge.

She actually let the male snuggle up in the anemone on the first night. I guess she was just lonely.

I believe but can't know for sure the pairing to easily because my female is about 3.5 years old and the male is still under 6 months(probably still a juvenile as his gold is just now coming in)

What is the mature age when gsm clowns start laying?

your female is mature to lay, you male generally has to be a year old to be fertile. Ive have an 8 month old male black ice currently that is getting it on, but the egg quality is still lacking, and he will need to mature some to get better egg quality.. Maroons also grow ALOT slower then other clowns and so it may be a while before you see eggs pop up...

Thanks for the info. There is always someone in this club who is in the know.
Good luck on your pairing.
