For everyone out there that has their heaters in the sump, what do you do if your power goes out and you lose water exchange between the DT and the sump???

I ask because I've been contemplating upgrading and can't see how I could avoid this issue...

In the summer a heater is not need if your house is 74 or higher. In the winter I would move it to the dt on a ups

Yes, you need a plan B, and c...
Small generator, Vortech's on battery backup, etc.

and inveter will run for a while and an air stone would be the cheapest way to start with

Best place for a heater is in the overflow, unless you've plumbed a huge system with a remote sump

if power is out for awhile and you need heat and have no generator you can heat up containers of water (gas stove or fire). As I've said before when these topics come up, I love my little Honda eu2000 generator
