I got a coral beauty yesterday and last night it started looking like it had little bubbles on it. I can't really tell if it is bubbles or ick. What do I need to do? Take it out of the tank and quarantine it just in case? What method is best to treat this?

Try feeding rods, the garlic in it will help fight the ick and boost the immune system. When new fish are added, and they stress out they get ick. Feeding is the best way. Good luck.

That does look like it. I know that's what it is now because it has spread to my strawberry pseudo that I got last night as well. It has fewer spots than the angel, but they are starting on its fins.

What is rods?

It's a type of food. Since the ich is in your tank and is spreading I would not take the fish out and put them in qt. It will stress them out more.
Do you have coral in your tank? If not cut the lights back to calm the fish down. The ich will stress them out enough. It will help them fight it off. If you do the shorten the photo period for a few days.
Feed heavily (mysis, pellets whatever they will eat alot of that has a high nutritional value to it) and up your water changes to compensate for the extra food and waste.
Hope this helps. If you have any questions please ask.

I have frozen brine shrimp and Omega One Natural Protein Formula Marine Pellets with garlic. Are those foods any good? Where do I get the rods food from? I do not have coral. How long should I leave the lights off? Just out of curiosity, would a cleaner shrimp do anything to get rid of the ick? I read somewhere that they help. Do you think that ick has had enough time to affect the other fish since the new ones that have it have only been in there for 24 hours?

I would skip the brine and go out and buy some mysis. Keep up with the pellet feeding though. I would leave the lights off tomorrow. Then on for only a few hours the next day and repeat

IF it is ich then QTing the fish is not going to really do much at this point. The best thing to do is pick up some Seachem Focus, Seachem Metronitizole and some sort of highly unsaturated fatty acid like Selcon. Soak some PE mysis in this brew and then feed it to the fish. If it is healthy and eating then it will recover from the ich just fine.

My biggest advice is do not fall victim to Kick ich or the other quick cures. Some will also say to pick up a UV, however to kill ich you need a massive unit with very slow flow which is going to be costly to properly set up.

If its not ich then try to get a picture of it or find a pictures online that looks like it. Best of luck.

Good find charlie, that is what it looks like I have a breakout of it in my tank. Stupid regal tang. funny my clown doesnt have it or the gobies, everything else does though. My first outbreak ever I knew better than to put that fish in there is why i'm poed

I turned the lights off last night for about 12 hours like everyone said and I don't know if it's a fluke or what, but both fish look MUCH better  Hopefully they will continue to improve!!!

So here is my 2 cents and that may be all it is worth. If the feeding doesn't work I do move my fish to QT tank and I use
a>). It is more effective than many other treatments like Paragaurd. Paragaurd is the leading seller from seachem, but cupramine works even on the tough stuff. I wouldn't use it in my display tank though or anything you are going to have corals or inverts in. It will kill them and permenently effect your live rock. That is why I suggest doing it in the QT tank. I have tried hyposalinity with some success too.
