Just spotted this a few days ago. It appears to have grown about 2 to 3 times in size the past few days.

yep get rid of it as quickly as possible it will spread quickly. That one looks pretty big.

thats what I was thinking.. just wanted to confirm. uuuggg it put itself into a hole in the LR. i'll have to try the no-light trick to get it to move out. Anybody try the juice products?

you can just cover the hole good with epoxy if that is easier, time is of the essence

Get a syringe from a dr's office or with a kit from an lfs. Kill it with boiling water, Joes, x, reef former concentrate, calc, etc. Search away on this site, but be prepared to enjoyably lose hours

I have had a few they have never really spread. My LFS has one the size of a long tentacle nem. However if it gets troublesome I just bury it in the sand. It does seem to move sometimes like a nem.

just used some aptasia-x and poof..its gone. Nice stuff!

Pretty let it grow :)

I got pepermint shrimp. Had 4 aptasia, add shrimp, next morning no aptasia. I was shocked they actually ate it.

+1 on peppermints cheap long term insurance for those nasty things. buy like 4-5 usually like $6-$10 at LFS. Make great additions to the tank. When there not eating aptasias they will eat up left over fish food and sorts.

Funny you should mention them. I did get two for about 6 bucks each. I have not seen them from after the second day in the tank. I checked around and did not see any body parts or notice any hermits sticking to one spot. I'm assuming they are in the live rock or the serpent star got them. Do they come out at night?

each one is different mostly all i see are antennas sticking out. But when the fish food goes in the tank they come out to scavenge. then their back to hiding. I do believe they are mostly nocturnal.
