So below are some pictures of what I believe to be algae that has started growing on my sand bed. While the tank is somewhat new (4 months) - all the rock comes from my previous tank which was up for several years. There is so much info out there it is hard to keep the suggestions straight. I am guessing that I feed my fish too much - usually some dry flake/frozen food - along with one cube of freeze dried brine shrimp. Each morning - plus I add one small sheet of seaweed.
The tank is 170 gallons - with the following fish
Large Yellow Tang
Large Sailfin Tang
Leopard Wrasse
2 Snow Flake clowns
2 small black clowns
3 banggai Cardinal Fishes
Flame Hawkfish
Flame Angelfish
Coral Beauty anglefish
yellow coris wrasse
I have Skimmer - GFO - biopellet reactor
Suggestions on what type of algae the pictures show and thoughts on reducing or eliminating them.
