He is just so cool, measures about 3" tip to tip. I was doing some deep cleaning in one of my systems, pulling out old eggcrate. He was lodged in a corner and had to break him loose. I not for sure how or when he got there. I have not put a new coral except small frags in this system in awhile. I did put some rock from my sump and display tank in there about a month ago.

Have you seen little purple white and green starfish in your system?
 
I thought that was probably what they are but they look a lot cooler than any of the pictures when I googled it. So far I have found 2 but one is only three points like it was broken in half. It seems fine though

The purple and green are very bright colors and they blend into the rock pretty good. I want sure that it wasn't part of the rock at first I just thought it was good algae growth but then it moved
 
Looks like a baby pencil urchin....if not..pretty cool looking urchin of some kind.

Not sure it's stubby enough to be a pencil, it looks a lot like a needle pincushion I've got in my tank, mostly nocturnal, wedging between rocks during the day.
