This is probably a retarded question, but I'm curious about your opinion on how best to attach frags to rock. I've seen people use the super glue gel. My concern with this method is that it would be difficult to move the frag if it needed to be. Is there a putty? If so which one do you use, and where can I get some in gwinnett?

i've used epoxy, but more often i have problems with the epoxy failing before i'm really interested in moving the plug. I've taken to just moving moving the rock if I need to move the coral

With the superglue gel you can still remove frags. The only prob is the glue is very hard. Just don't use a lot. I have found most corals encrust on rock to fast to remove them anyway.

I use a combination of epoxy and super glue gel. Basically make a ball with the epoxy, put a dot of SG on either side, one for the rock and one for the frag.

I find the epoxy harder to break loose than the gel. Just use a dab of gel to keep the crabs and snails from knocking it over and you are good to go. (wish I had never used the epoxy)

I got a white stripe hermit crab thats shell is at least 4-5 inches. I feel your pain. I wont get rid of him since we got him out of the ocean ourselves. Hes like a walking tornado of destruction

I will in due time. Santa clause brought a video camera. A video would be fun to refer back to as the tank progresses. Of course, it will take me a week to upload the video to YouTube because my ATT DSL is terrible. Comcast is in the near future...

I have a Kenya Tree that keeps dropping branches. Can you super glue those to a frag plug the same way?

I don't know why but me and epoxy just don't get along. I find super glue much easier to work with and has more instant gratification for me.

And yes you can glue the Kenya tree I tried it and it works with no ill effect I have seen.

Super glue gel always seems to dry too fast for me to get the frags to stick properly (yes, I use the Gel). I was getting ready to switch to epoxy but it sounds like I may be doing something wrong with the super glue.

If its drying too fast you may need to dry off the area you are applying it too first. It seems like when I put glue on coral and stick to rock inside tank I have to hols in place for about a minute. For what its worth I'm using glue from brs

Also if the rock is removable and the frag is on the plug type that stick into frag racks. You can always take the rock out of the tank for a minute and drill a hole in the rock the diameter of the plug and set the frag in the hole for easy removal without any superglue or epoxy.

I had thought of this... I'm glad to hear someone else has tried it, or at least considered it. This is probably the route I will be going.
