These guys have been popping up in my frag tank in a few places. I can't get a positive ID on them by searching. If I had to guess I'd say they are harmless filter feeders. They do not seam to harm anything. They are not typical featherduster worms. They do make a sort of tube but it appears to be soft. They seem to have a "crown".

BTW. What's wrong with my chalice?

Oh cool. quick search verifies that you are correct, it is a sponge from the group Calcarea.

Also read that it indicates that my calcium levels are good.

I'd be very cautions with the scoly ....

If I were you, I'd give it to me for safe keeping. On a good note, they do look like the pineapple sponges that I halve in my tank;-)

Sorry I had to pull a Rich ;-)... tank looks good.

lol. thanks but you should see the rest of it.
I'm gonna have to pull the frag rack out somehow (covered in corals and is the size of the 40 breeder minus room for that rock) and GHA is going crazy on it. The CUC doesnt really move along the rack like they would rocks but I'm gonna take the rack out and clean it, and hopefully they will do some work on the plugs/rock frags while they are sitting on the bottom of the tank.

Edit: and yeah you can have my scoly.

Yeah right!! lol
