So we have been working in this little drop off tank. We actually are loving how well it is doing.

Equipment:
  • Radion XR 15
  • Fluval Heater
  • In tank media basket with Purigen, chemi pure & filter floss.
  • Filter sock on the other overflow.
  • Spin Streams on both returns
  • Jeabao Nano Power head.
Livestock
  • Black Ice Clown
  • Domino Clown
  • Cherub Angel
  • Various Corals
We had an Aurora Goby but it killed itself trying to jump out. (Hitting its head on the top)

We want to add a fridmani? Looking for a low level swimmer.

We are having some algae, I think it is because the window is behind the tank. The blinds are closed, but we think some light maybe filtering through. 20180921_175823.jpg20181004_173148.jpg20181027_164352.jpg20181027_164348.jpg20181027_164332.jpg20181027_164327.jpg20181027_164324.jpg20181027_164317.jpg20181027_164151.jpg20181027_164220.jpg

I did forget a smart micro auto top off & we are adding an eshoppes nano skimmer tomorrow during water change time. 20181027_164220.jpg20181027_164211.jpg20181027_164222.jpg

Same here. These dropoffs look awesome. Its definetly a showcase piece for the middle of a house. Hows the flow in these? I always had a feeling the flow at the bottom would be very restricted.

I love my drop off too! I wish innovative marine would make them in a larger size because they are definitely showcase aquariums. The flow seems to be pretty good, I added a spin stream in mine for better overall circulation.

The flow is not the best. We bought the spin streams and added a small jeabo wavemaker

Are you still using the Eshopps skimmer? I'm looking around and not a lot of skimmers will fit this tank unfortunately unless you go HOB, which IMO defeats the AIO aspect of the tank.

I still have it, but it makes a ton of microbubbles. It does fit in the chamber.

This tank is getting a complete overhaul. I ended up hating the black sand. Then we had a bubble algae breakout. So I tore it down. Moved the fish into a new tank we set up and we are starting over. I was going to use the bimini pink sand, but I may change my mind. I have it int he 65 I set up and I am not sure how much I really like it. So I may just go with Fiji pink.

Upgrading the heater - New one has a temperature controller.

Got the diffuser to add to the radion.

For the back chambers, I got a second media basket for the other overflow. A refugium basket for the middle chamber. I am going to put some cheato or calypura in there not sure yet, but this tank was a pod heaven when we took it apart.

I am not going to run a skimmer this time, it seemed to cause more issues with micro bubbles etc than it benefited.

Thinking of making this a true nano type tank.

A pair of green banded gobies - Maybe just one
Helfrechi Firefish
Ruby Red Dragonette
Pink Streak Possum Wrasse

Pom Pom Crabs or Sexy Shrimp? I really do like the Pom Pom Crabs any opinions on them?

I was going to do more softies this time, things I really dont want in my other tanks. GSP, Pulsing Xenia, Yellow Star Polyps

Bottom shelf I want to do an acan garden though maybe some Yuma's

It is still all a vision. The tank has water in it, and the salinity is finally perfect. Now to rescape and add sand. So I have some time to figure it out.
