I just put in enough that it takes them all day to eat it. Between the 8 tangs, 14" engineer goby and all the wrasses and chromis that eat the stuff for some reason 3 sheets usually lasts a day or so.

I have one as well and it works amazing. I read some bad reviews that a lot gets wasted left behind the square grids but surprisingly little gets wasted. They manage to get most of what is behind the square grids as well!

And just like you said, anything that falls off the clip will just get eating by others. At least they do in my tank. Anything that falls off the clip gets snatched up pretty fast. But I go through 3 sheets a day and having to reload that thing is enough of a PINA to make it not worth it for me.

If alot gets lost, role the sheet up before you put it in the clip.

I see little leftover when I replace the sheets. IMO, more gets wasted with clips with floating chunks
