I know a lot of people have fish that end up with ick. I brought home a tang that has gotten stressed and shows ick. I'm thinking of treating that tank but he's in holding with some corals and softies therefore before I do...I want to see if this stuff is reef safe. The packaging says nothing about it in the directions.

Not sure about Rid-Ich but Rid-X claims to be reef safe. I have a small bottle if you want to give it a try.

My tangs have all had it. I just mix up some Metro and Focus before adding a new one. They all break out with it but after a few days of treatment they settle down and it clears up. I look at is like I look at a cold. Not much you can do to prevent it but you just need to be prepared for it and get the immune systems of all the fish up to par. They can fight it off with a little help.

If its malachite green then no

The bottle says: Formaldehyde 4.26% (11.25% formalin) Zinc-free Chloride salt of malachite green (0.038%) so I'm going to assume, yes.

yeah, I have a bottle of that. You can use it, but you MUST QT, as it is very unsafe for corals and inverts. also it will stain your silicone blue, which looks kind of cool IMO.

I have a 20g+ugly stand+light for trade. lol.
I'll take.. uhh.. anything?

I've had luck with it with certain fish. But also killed a prize tang I had. Idk. Jmho. My emperor angel several triggers eels others were fine. Foxface. But it shriveled an anenome but I pulled it out and saved it. I'd try it on a smaller scale and a little less than the directions say. In a smaller qt if possible. Although I know very little. Just how I'd approach it. But I'd see if be could kick it by his self first. Garlic and vitamins. Maybe freshwater dip.

Ich attack is reef safe but sure angers some corals. Rid ich is a total no go unless a fish only no live rock. Kick ich is also reef safe. Jenn at imagine sells kick ich I'm pretty sure.
