I have a 40g Reptile tank that use to house one of my dart frog pairs. It is currently not being used. I am trying to design fish breeding system that im maybe going to put in my basement. Will I have any trouble with this? it holds water but im not really sure if the reptile tanks are designed to hold water like regular fish tanks ?

As far as I know, they are constructed exactly the same. Just wash it out really well with a vinegar/water bath and you should be good to go.

if its actually a reptile tank(and not one just used to house them) then no its not made to hold water. It might, but its not made to.

Terrariums are not made to hold water, and are generally made with thinner glass, I believe. If it's an aquarium that you've been using to house a reptile, you shouldn't have a problem. If it's a terrarium made specifically for use as a terrarium, it's not a good idea to use it as an aquarium.

i agree w the above. if its a real rep tank then it isn't worth the chance of failure IMO.

Ok guys that's what I wanted to hear I will probably end up setting a new vivarium in that one and use another as a sump
