Well, I had the tank for sale but after all the low ball offers I decided I would just reset it up. I had it running pretty well initially but was in a position where I couldnt keep it the way I wanted and basically gave away a lot of equipment, corals, etc.

Well now I have things in the correct manner and am going to set it back up. So here are what the plans are thus far.

-Manado rock in a bonsaish theme- just ledges and minimal work. (completed)

-Maxspect Razor Nano led as my light source (already pre ordered and seem to be the first one on the list to receive one in the general public)

- Unique euphyilla (my favorite coral) probably a golden/orange torch or a unique frogspawn.
- Plate garden
- Very few sps, millies, a certain monti cap, certain encrusting monti
- Zoas/palys and ricordeas spread throughout
- hopefully a nice anemone later down the line

Fish
- Clowns, either something unique or gold strip maroon;my favorite
- Helrichi firefish or purple
- yellow goby
- maybe a wrasse of some sort (mystery would be awesome)

This are just initial stages and plans. Everything could change but certain things

Here is a picture of the tank, lit by led flashlights. Everyone feel free to let me know what you think good or bad.

Thaks a lot. Lights probably won't be in for a couple of weeks. I am looking for some sort of skimmer or carbon/gfo reactor to fit in the back and keep everything as clean as possible.

Hopefully some members can hook me up on some corals like I hooked up those when I was breaking down my tank. Kind of kicking myself for that right now haha but it was for the better good of the community.

Yeah I have a slow build on a 12g right now as well. Going piece by piece only has about 3 true frags in it. I have some non LE I can prob toss a frag your way depending on distance for you.

Thanks a lot for the offer but honestly I am trying to keep my livestock empty until May 1st. That way my water
Will be pristine, parameters should be near perfect, and the risk of a surprise cycle will not disrupt things. That will also give me Time to get my light dialed in, reactors installed and working, and to see if any hiccups that may occur that I haven't noticed. I am trying to make this the most perfect nap that I can withiny knowledge and budget.

Get your hands on a Hydor Nano Slim skim. I have the same tank and use that skimmer in my tank. Works great.

I've got the JBJ 30RL with the 120 watt Maxspect Razor. It's a great combo! I think you'll probably need to crank your nano razor up pretty high. My 120 watt peaks out at 65% mid day.

D3R3K,

That was one of the main reasons of going with the nano. I wanted to be able to ramp it up to the full power and see what it could do. Plus I wanted to save just a little bit of cash compared to the 120 but man are those things sweet. Do you mind either posting some pictures of your JBJ or texting them to me if that is easier?

You can text to 706-767-2802 if youd like.

Edit: Matty,

The slim skim is definitely at the top of my list as far as skimmers. I am contemplating whether I want a skimmer or just do lots of water changes and run a carbon/gfo reactor from BRS. Just am unsure of which way to go right now.

DO BOTH! Lol. Both are good options, but I feel that a skimmer is needed in a nano reef.

What is your slim skim in? Do you have any issues with microbubbles or needing it to be at a certain water level in order for it to work properly?

Edit: Rather, which chamber is it in? Do you have any pictures of the setup?

I don't have pictures right now because I am waiting on a replacement mount for it, last one went missing on me. I did have some microbubbles but it was solved by adjusting the height of the skimmer. I had it in the far right chamber. I took that media tray out and just have it as a backup. Not sure what I need it to back up however Lol.
