Ok, To raise my mag to 1800ppm.Total volume 205 gal.Want to raise 100ppm aday.The calculator tells me about 37 oz aday.Until i reach my goal.Just seems like alot.Anyone want to check my math.

yep thats about right, my calculator says 37.5oz but with water displacement you should be fine..

I try not to add it all at once and break it up into at least morning and night. It does impact alk and Ca some keep on eye on those if you have some harder to keep SPS.

Could be. Then I think the recommended target is 1600 and not 1800. If you go beyond that, you risk harm to the other inhabitants.

Correct on the bryopsis.Well whitch one is it 1800 or 1600.Once i get it to the correct number,was going to go two weeks.And then start WA.

The first one is a fellow reefer's trek through the Tech M dosing while the second is another solution for after dosing with Tech M.

There are several others if you care to search for Tech M or Bryopsis under Reef Discussions.

In my experience with byropsis....I never dosed my Tech M above 1600 in a 93 cube nor my 40 breeder and in both cases, it was gone.

Thanks, Jeff,I will look at those.I thought i did enough research. but i didnt.This is my last ditch effort to get rid of this junk.This has been the worst thing that has been in my tank since i been in the hobby

Start at 1600 but it honestly shouldn't hurt anything at 1800. I started with 1600 for 2 weeks and still noticed some so I moved up slowly to 1800 and held it there for another 2 weeks and it all died. Haven't had it again and it's been almost 2 years...

Got another question. Do I run gfo will I'm using the teck-m.

I didn't. Depending on your maintenance practice of GFO...this could be part of your problem.

i didnt and would not recommend running carbon or gfo...its the "impurities" so to speak that are in tech m which have the effect on bryopsis and running either may strip the water of them and rendering it less effective

I never used gfo before this problem. This is first time in 8 yrs i ever had HA.It came in on a frag.Didnt think anything of it.

Ok...so which is it...HA or Bryopsis? Tech M won't do a thing for HA. That's a different animal that requires a different treatment.

I was told most likely its bryopisis.Time will tell.Im going to start addind teck m sunday.

You can visually tell the different. Bryopsis looks like little ferns whereas HA looks like strands of hair....just straight.

Well , here we go.Adding 9.4 oz of teck-m, 4 x a day till I reach 1600 to 1700. ppm.Will hold that for two weeks and see what happens.Anyone know if I will see die in the first couple of days.
