The 21st Annual Atlanta Koi Club Koi and Goldfish Show will be held at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds (2405 Sugarloaf Parkway, Lawrenceville, GA 30045) on October 9th and 10th with Saturday’s events running from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM and Sunday’s events running from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
The Show will be held indoors at the Fairground’s large climate controlled exhibit hall. Spectacular koi and goldfish from local club members and other clubs from throughout the Southeast will be on display and judged as part of the show. Vendors will be selling great koi and goldfish as well as other koi and goldfish related items such as food, supplies, and plants. In addition there will be some amazing art and decorations for sale.
At the close of the show on Sunday there will be a fish auction open to anyone who is interested. Registration starts at 2:00 PM.
There will also be a “Boot Sale” held by the Gwinnett County Master Gardener’s Club on Saturday from 9:00 AM until Noon with club members bringing garden treasures just in time for Fall planting.
There will be multiple seminars on koi headlined by a lab seminar concentrating on koi/goldfish diseases and parasites. This seminar will be conducted by Vicki Vaughn – the owner of The Koi Store with 16 years of research experience at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. To cover materials, there is a $30 charge for the lab seminar but all other seminars are free.
This is a must attend event if you are already interested in koi and goldfish or if you are thinking about getting into the hobby. Club members are more than willing to talk about all aspects of ponds – particularly how to get started.
