But man, there isn't a wife on this planet that is truley going to be ok with that monster in her bedroom.

Mine gave the ok lol.

It was a empty space to begin with. The bed is about 4 feet away from the tank and then another 5 feet from our bathroom door. We have a custom mirrored wall in closet and shoe room. Plus I have the tank 2 feet off the wall to allow me to plump it.

Y'all lay off of Chris. Lol. Be glad he has a wife that will support his hobby.

I used to park my motorcycles (yes, 2 of them) in my bedroom. Some women loved it, some hated it... He has one that supports it.

Good on ya, Man!!!

He had to promise to swim nekid in the tank before she would agree. Hhehehehe

Got one t5 installed to help light while I'm cleaning. Planning on t5 Led setup.

Again slow build as I want to do this tank right and take my time. No rush

Goodness! That thing is a beast!!!

Is that a gas heating unit to the left of the tank?

Yeah our house has one in every room. I love them! Saved me so much this winter

Gonna be cool for sure. Whats ur plan of fish? Sharks and rays ? Also are u adding live rock or keep it open.

It may be hard to tell from the depth perception of the pic, but the tank looks awfully close to that unit. I'd hate for an accident to happen. Maybe a space heater would be a better in that room.

The heater is unplugged it was just sitting there.

As far as fish and stuff. I want a single shark and possibly a ray. We shall see ill still be making it a reef

Ok got most plumbing done but I'm wanting to confirm it with Jon how he had it.

Can anyone recommend a good heater size?? I plan to run a 300w for backup but I'm guessing ill need a 500w or bigger?

Kris your prob going to need more than just one, id suggest maybe a couple of 250's or two 300's just in case. You should be fine since the tank and sump as in a heated room.

Well considering i have almost 300 gallons of mine in the basement and the insulation is is limited, i think I have a combo of maybe 3 - 300 watts and 3 -250 watts and the tank sits at about 76 -78 year round. Id have to check to make sure but its alot because the water downstairs can get very cold in times like these.

Thanks man! Hope all is well with you and the tank. Did you ever replace the idol?
