OK, here is a base line. Jaycen gave me these frags a week ago. They are under dimmable MM LED. Lets see how they progress.

Not sure how much I can attribute to the leds vs quality of water but I lost almost all my sps but my softies are exploding in growth

SPS growth with LED's seems slow. I'm disappointed so far as my growth is in line with the pics above (slow compared to MH). The 2 exceptions for me are birdsnest and a powder blue stag which seem to be growing relatively fast. Will post growth pics of those tomorrow.

Not giving up yet, though. Will continue to experiment.

I am pretty unhappy with LEDs and sps. The chalice grows fast. I'll be adding t5s later on

Will be interested in your results. I have 104w of t5 (Fiji purple) with 500w of led. I think you'll need more than just "supplemental" t5 to make a difference.

I only have room for 4x 28w t5's. We'll see... I have to build a canopy first.

i thank i got the pics in the right order kinda pain to link that meany fom the droid new os sucks
gess i should of put down this is with 2 ai and 2 radion fixtues and 2 2bulb t-5's
riptide you should be able to git 4 on there i would do one on each side the angel they nead to be at will take sum time to dile in run the led at 100% and use the t-5 to adjust color

Vivid Aquariums has an LED vs MH experiment underway on their in-store 800 gallon show tank. This is the first really controlled study I've seen.

In retrospect I wish that I would have taken more photos of my home tank's progress with LEDs, but I've been quite happy.

That's pretty cool. Really great to see a large tank with LEDs. 2800 MH on the left and 12 ecotech's on the right. 7x400's? If thats the case, it's crazy overkill IMO. $9000 for half the tank lit with led's. Ouch. It would take 10 years to break even at the current price for regular consumers. Lol.
