I am more than satisfied with the growth and color of my SPS...it is hard to capture it on my camera. I am playing with an underwater HD digital right now, so I'll try to get some more pics. With digital pics, at least mine, I can get the basic shade sometimes, but the color intensity is not in the pic.

im extremely happy with both color and growth with my leds.i have a setup i built with 108 3w cree.72 royal blue,24 white and 12 high noon.all dimmed by RKE.ill get some pics up as soon as Rskillz brings his camera over and shoots some,should be today.my CIPP does not do the tank justice.

Water quality plays a major role in the success of coral growth and color.
Also, switching from one light to another surly pushes pause on growth.

Seems like the general consensus is like this for LEDs.....
Pros:
Great colors
Long lamp life
Low Heat
Ramp up / ramp down ability (dimmable)
Cons:
Decent but not MH type growth (SPS)
High intro cost
Locked in fixture for long term
Light spread (getting better)
I've seen poor and great LED par so maybe folks can chime in there.

Reef techs are the best I've seen. You can control the individual led light.
210watts for each fixture. I run my whites at 37.5% and growing sps at bottom of tank.

OK here are two decent pics. This is the true color of the SPS. I just shot about 20 pics and I was too close in most of them and they are blurry. I'm gonna shoot some more farther away and will post more later.

Blue is easy with LEDs. Bright yellow is a little harder.
I know you are just joking Ralph. I have little to no photography skills as it is. This pic is from a JVC Picsio waterproof HD video camera that takes stills. It doesn't have white balance, zoom or any other adjustable settings. Not made for point and shoot, but it does a better job getting the colors than my cheapo PAS digi.

You really don't have to worry about yellows with acroporas. True yellow SPS corals are few and far between, at least IME.
I preface the below statements with I think Reef Tech has a new LED unit coming out that has other colors than white, blue, and royal blue, but did not when I switched from AIs to Radions several months ago.
Reef Tech uses only blue, royal blue and white in their LED fixtures. You basically had the same LED makeup as AI. The Radions had the addition of the Red and Greens. Going from AI to Reef Tech would be like going to the same product.
Main diff between the two I saw was the Reef Tech unit was more powerful, and had a much higher price point than the AI units.
Pure Reef has a Reef Tech unit over a 60 gallon tank, and so I have watched that tank over the months, and while the colors are good, it was not much different than the colors I saw in my Reef under AIs.
What I like about the Radions over the AIs is the ability to dial in whatever Kelvin temperature you want, whenever you want it, and for however long you want it. That is not bad mouthing AIs; you simply cannot customize their output like you can the Radions.
Another nice thing about the Radions is their ability to sync up with Vortech pumps if you want them to. However long your daylight period, 1/2 hour before sunset they go into night mode, and come out 1/2 hour after daylight starts.

Jorge is running the reef tech unit at only 30%.
I would like to know the what % you would need to run the radions to reach the same par levels as the reef techs. That might be something Jorge should do.
I have my units ramped up a little more and I am seeing much better growth.

I've been lurking but no time to post.
I will post some pics later of growth over the past year under LED. The hilarious thing is that I don't have time right now because I literally just got done removing my AIs and mounting 400w Radiums over the tank. I will keep the LEDs mounted to control ramp up/down and to help the corals transition.
Today is the first day with 800w of Radiums over the tank with 300~w of LED.
I'll start my own thread going into detail and progress.
