I currently run a 24x24 IM Nuvo Fusion 40 with about 18 inches of water depth. I have Current USA Orbit Marine Lights and they’ve gotten the job done for the zoas, hammers and gsp I have in there. I’ve been wanting to fill out my tank with more variety of corals and do a small mix reef setup with my zoas at the bottom than LPS bottom to mid and SPS on top. Although I was looking at the new Prime 16 HD Reef I was able to acquire to 2 kessil A360WE Tuna Blue and a controller through this club for a great deal. Through my research I’ve found that one can cover an area of 18x18. Would anyone recommend running 2 on a lower settings and slowly turning them up week by week for a couple months to get ready for sps or would 2 be overkill? From what I understand 2 on lower settings will create less of a par drop off on the edges vs one on in the center on a higher setting. I ask this because I don’t want to bleach out my current corals as they’re doing well.

Running 2 and slowly ramping them up will work, you’ll have a lot of coverage in the tank going that route. They’re best spread is when they’re mounted 8” over the top of the water. Your best bet will be getting ahold of a par meter and taking some measurements to verify what mounting position/settings are best.
