I'm going to be lighting my 30x30 cube with a single 400 watt MH with a lumenmax elite fixture. I'm looking for some suggestions from people something I can use as actinics when the main light is off. The tank is 27" deep and will have about 2" of sand. I've looked online and there is all kinds of stuff out there, but I'd like to hear about stuff that ARC members are using and can vouch for

Thanks

Tyson

I'd use a 20k radium bulb as your main bulb since the tanks so deep. I know that's kinnda off topic not to mention it's a real good atinic pop kind of bulb. If it's just when the tanks off and no other lights are on I'd just use a t-8 fixture with single bulb you can't beat it for pop. But if you r trying to run your lights 24-7 with attinic bulb on when main lights are off. I think u should forget it the corals n fish need a rest to

I plan on running the 400 watt radium for about 6-7 hrs a day and want something a few hours prior to it coming on and an hr or so after

Have you thought about getting some Royal Blue LEDs? I had a couple going on my tank and liked the way they looked, but I never finished the DIY project because of the cost of the heatsinks that I would have needed.

Im probably going to just buy something. I've dragged my heels enough on my build and would hate to prolong it any more.

Would 2 current powerbrite's work?

One t8 cheap o fixture will work trust me. Can even do a dual bulb. You are just looking for color. If you wanna see what it looks like I can text you a pic. Otherwise I do believe you will be wasting money.

Current USA True Lumen LED actinic strip. I LOVE these things. I have 3 of the old version (Powerbrites) over my main tank (72) gallon, and it looks amazing at night.

I also have one of the new True lumens over my 28 nano and it looks awesome as well.

I'm a big fan of Current USAs products and honestly, I look forward to my halides and VHOs finally going off

EDIT: Here are a few pictures I just took of both tanks with the True Lumens on by themselves. They will be a bit more blue in person, but I like to wipe most of it out for picture purposes.
