Looking to start pico tank for decorator crab

Hello,

I am going to be moving soon and currently have a 20g tank. I am going to be selling/giving away everything except my blue decorator crab my girlfriend absolutely refuses to get rid of lol. I am looking to get the smallest setup possible. Can anyone provide me with some suggestions? I was hoping to get something 1-3 gallons and put an air stone in it along with a piece of live rock and live sand. Thanks for any advice!

Don't think the light on the tank you have linked will suport them but there are a couple of reef compatabel screw in bulbs that would be perfect for the setup. You could also drill the tank easily since it's not glass and add a plastic storge bin refugium below to keep an unclutered display.

any examples for bulbs? i'd like to just replace the lights on it, its just a temp tank, dont wanna break the bank

i had a decorator crab in my 90 gallon tank that was literally EVERYWHERE in the 5' display..

i don't think that the scavanger would fair very well in a tank that size.. (i've got a 3 gallon tank right now, and there's not really ANY space in there for anything of substance)



and those par38 bulbs are about as much as a metal halide lamp..

I would go with a couple of the Ecoxotic Panorama Modules (8white lights/4 blue lights)..

2-3 of those would be perfect over a 14gal biocube..

My 5.5 has alot of inverts and they all do great they are always looking for food but are fed to make sure not to go hungary

Do you have a spider crab? Mine is the triangle type, its only an inch in side id say, very small, will do fine in the small tank i think.

not sure, the shell on mine was about 1.5" across (not including legs)..

The light is a par 30 cost is just under $80 but you have to get a light fixture for it to go in. I thought the panoramas sold for $100 each?

All in one and has enough light as is to support softies and you might even be able to do a frogspawn.

someone was selling two on here a week ago for $140

used, you can get the modules for typically under $80
