Update: We are only 3 weeks away from our first frag swap/show and we have a lot of exciting things happening. We would like to announce that we will be doing a “garage sale” style table set up for supporting members to bring any equipment, fish food, or individually bagged coral to sell. We will have a volunteer watching over the table at all times to ensure nothing is taken before being paid for. It is up to you to price your item and get payment for your item. We will have anything that is free set to the side so there is no confusion and we will have system set up so you may still shop and socialize without having to watching over your items. You will be responsible for taking your item home with you if it does not sell at the end of the show, we will not be responsible for any items that are left behind at the end of the show. If you have any further questions please feel free to message me, thank you!!

just cut a fresh batch of acros for the show! Pink caddy, no-name rainbow tort, no-name blue bushy deepwater, Slimeball anacro. Ran out of plugs, so this week I'll get another bag and cut some encrusters and shrooms.

And here's the whole lineup so far, lots of candies and hammers ready to go!

Before the show I'm doing a triple stage dip to remove potential pests & algae, so no worries there.

Not sure why this would be a thing, are you infested with pests?
Just as a safety measure. The only thing I know of in my tank is a small population of planarian flatworms, no AEFW, crabs or redbugs to speak of. The planarians are easy to kill with dips so I thought I'd go ahead and knock them out. I plan to get a Halichoeres wrasse soon too, to try and curb the population in the display, but they will always be a part of my tank unless I nuke it lol

As much as I understand why you would want to dip Corals prior to selling them, I would advise not to. Dipping can be very stressful to Corals and given they will be stressed just by traveling to the frag swap not to mention that anyone buying the Corals will most likely dip them again Causing even more stress. It just seems unnecessary and overly stressful on the Corals. While a dip can kill a pest in most cases it will not kill eggs or nuisance algae. Just my two cents…

I appreciate the thought! I will just blow off & rinse any planarians that I see on the plugs. They should be really easy to spot, so I'm not too worried. This will be my first time selling frags myself (I've traded a ton with Pure Reef in the past) so I'm still kind of figuring it out. I appreciate the tips!

We are less than 2 weeks away!! Are you looking for something special? Or just excited to meet up with your fellow reefers again?
I'm excited for both! The community is a large part of it for me, as none of my family or close friends keep SW (and one sister keeps FW tanks). It's amazing to be able to talk with people who understand your lingo and weird terms and things that just fly over the heads of everyone else!
But, I'll also probably add a couple of new acros to the collection...;)

I want to gauge interest before I go all in and make some more... But would anyone be interested if I brought some of these? Meant as wall art/tabletop pieces, pics under blues and whites. Range from 3" to 7" in diameter, I've also got a WIP piece that features bounce mushrooms.
Made form polymer clay, painted with acrylic paints and fastened to wooden bases. Clear coated to protect the finish.
