With so many amazing tanks, its really hard for us to pick a winner. We ended up going with post #6. PM sent.

Thank you everyone for your participation and sharing. It's awesome and inspirational for everyone to see other members tanks. It takes a reefer to truly appreciate the pride we take in our tanks :).

If possible please detail your tank maintenance @Mom2Many. I've always struggled making a smaller tank thrive like that.

I feel so very humbled and honored to have my tank chosen. There were so many deserving and beautiful tanks submitted. A very inspirational thread.

This tank is a full four years old and a standard 20L rimmed tank set up very minimally as a low cost/low tech tank. The only equipment is 2 Current Orbit Marine LED programable lights, and AquaClear 70 HOB, a NeoTherm heater 75watt and two power heads.(one hydor nano and 1 hydor adjustable flow pico) On that tank I used regular old Instant Ocean salt but because of that, I had to daily dose B-Ionic two part to keep my alk and calcium needs met. I use distilled water for all my reef tanks (for mixing salt and for top off) I use reef energy part A and B daily in all my reef tanks, Coral frenzy and New Life Spectrum marine life formula 1mm sinking pellets as a sole food source for all inhabitants. I did weekly 5 gallon water changes, as there were so many corals in such a small space. that the chemical warfare was heavy. When doing the maintainance, I vaccummed the sandbed weekly. In the HOB I had my heater, 2 blue (cut to size type pads) sandwiched inbetween those two pieces are a nylon with 4 teaspoons matrix carbon and 4 teasponns phosguard) also a 2x2 piece of Poly-filter pad. If you sandwich all that inbetween the two pieces of filter pad and lay it like a hammock in your HOB filter, it forces the water to flow thru all the media and gets the most benifit out of it.

My lights are programmed - blues 100% and whites 60%. I have the main lights on for 10 hours a day with a 15 minute ramp up and ramp down. My moon lights are on for four hours after the night ramp down.

I think that staying on top of all your tank care and keeping it the same all the time, will lead to over all long term stability, which equals a happy and thriving coral community. If you make changes, do them slowly over time. Get on a problem immediatly if one is detected and try to enjoy every aspect of tank care and maintainance so as not to put it off.

All the above and a whole lot of prayer, love and devotion went into that tank.

I know a lot of what I stated seems to rub against the grain of many reef keepers and what to do to equal success but this has been my basic set up on all my nano reef tanks over the last many years and they have all been very successful. It is one way to get results, not the only way. :)

I do have a small youtube channel that totally covers all the things I discussed about this tank for anyone wanting to do a simular nano. Blessings and Happy Reefing!
