I am in the process of picking up some new rock to redo my aquascape. What is everyones opinion on Marco Key Largo rock vs Bulk Reef Supply rocks(reef saver or pukani)? Prices are fairly similar with BRS being slightly higher.

I have used the key largo marco rocks in two separate tanks and have had no complaints what so ever! They come in great shapes and easily lock together to make some pretty cool structures. Each time I have ordered I was given the exact size rocks I was looking for (example baseball, softball size...). For the price I could no be happier with them... just make sure you give them a food rinse before you put them in your tank and in several months you will have some great looking coralline covered rocks!

I have some pukani, love it - never ordered marco but ppl love that as well

My first reef tank had marko rock in it and I loved it very pourus great rock

Agree with the Marco comments. Nice rocks and you can get them neatly sliced to fit on the back wall or the floor.

I bought Marco rock to fill my tank with. I'm looking to add some more rock and will be buying from Marco again. One day in the not too distant future, imma update my build thread.

I love the Marco in my cube...the shapes are great and stack and scape well.

If im not mistaken, I think Rit mentioned that he is trying to order some marco rock for his new store. You may want to ask him about it!

FWIW the pukani fits together like legos too.....not much of a need to zip tie or acrylic rod them. And you can tell them exactly what you are looking for and they will accomodate as best they can. I ordered 50 lb and it would fully aquascape a 90 gal and look great...

and you can order other stuff you need while your at it, marco is just rock and rock supplies..

I use BRS for most of my other chemicals which is why I considered them as well. With both being equal I will probably go with Marcos since it has free shipping and I'm only getting 50lbs to help swap out some rocks I dont like in my tank.

I've thought of this but had never heard or read of anyone doing it. How is it generally attached to the rear glass? Any concerns about there being no flow between the rock and back wall?

I'd go Pukani over Marco. I've used both. Pukani is much lighter and has a more open structure, so you'll get more volume for the same $$. Marco is nice and you won't be disappointed by it, but I just think Pukani is better for reef structures.

If you were going to slice it as mentioned above, Marco would probably be better. I think Pukani might fall apart if it were sliced.
