I can't handle my Maxijets falling off the glass with the weak suction cup mount that comes with them. I have these in my 20 gallon long holding tanks and have resorted to letting them lay on the bottom of the tank the last year or so. I have looked into magnet mounts but have a problem paying more for a mount than the pump costs. :D

Anyone have a good mounting solution for maxijet pumps?

just a thought I had...how well would they stay mounted to a mag float? I've never tried it and the idea just now popped in my head.

That is a common mod as well, just super gluing them to a Mag Float.

Here how I fixed mine I took some 1/16 lexan and I made a mount
then drilled hole threw the mount and wire tied the maxijet mount
without the suction cup to the lexan mount.I have added some
drawings hope this helps.

Why not go to one of the hobby stores and get some magnets.....superglue a couple to the old mj mount and put a couple on the outside of the tank and you should have a relatively inexpensive fix!

Just like above.....get a cheap glass/cleaner mag and glue the maxijet to it......It is the only and best way to run them..... all mine have them

With as many people that use these pumps, you'd think the manufacturer would catch on and make a different mount. Everyone I've heard loves the pump cause it's cheap and fairly reliable, but they hate the mount. We should all write the company...

Meh, half of my MJ pumps are used for things other than circulation, feeding reactors and what not, so I'd really like to not pay the extra for a new mount design.

Also, suction cups hold up better in FW than in SW, and I'd bet a fair amount of people use these just fine in FW tanks.

just use the j-clip that comes with them to hang them on the rim. in a 20 long the clip should give you plenty of height adjustment.
