Hi, my MP40W is suddenly having these overheat mode issues. I will run for a few seconds, and then start flashing Red (supposed to mean overheating). I tried turning it off for thirty minutes, but the same thing happens when I start it up. And I also tried to reset the motor, but that didn't fix it either.

It has been running good on my tank for the past few weeks. But now it's suddenly having this issue.

I am asking Ecotech to see if they can fix it. But in the meanwhile, has anyone else had this issue?

Do you have the auto disconnect settings set? If so, it may have not been calibrated correctly. So, if you have it on reef crest mode and when it gets to a low motor speed it may be stalling out which causes it to turn off. So clearing out the memory fixes this problem.. I had this same problem on my mp10 so i never reset it cause i didn't feel like having that problem.

well, i took apart the wet side. and indeed, for some reason the propeller seemed like it was getting held up. so i think that was the problem. now, the problem is that i broke the drive shaft screw that holds the propeller.

Any idea if i can buy this exact screw at a hardware store? or do i need to buy a whole new wetside?

You should be able to buy every part that makes up the wetside from Ecotech Marine's parts website.

Since shipping will be the bulk of the expense, you could also order the maintenance kit.
