My 420 Gallon Display

So the tank is situated in an alcove where it's hard to get to the back. Since it's a mechanical lift canopy... I have to install square tubular supports to the back of the canopy that will connect to the linear actuators. In order to get it in position for that we created these temporary scaffolds to hold the canopy in place.

The canopy and stand will be skinned with something interesting soon... It won't look this bad when I'm done.

Next... I put on my swim gear, get in the tank and connect the four tubes...

It's particularly hard to stock fish at this time so its been challenging getting the ones I want. I picked a bunch of them up from a guy out in kennesaw that had to close his restaurant due to the current crisis.

So currently I have:
Copperband butterly - first resident. Eats like a pig and is an aptasia assassin. :)
Yellow tang- no tail on her... it got bitten off by a puffer according to the previous owner
Purple tang
Mata tang
Vlamingi tang - awesome streamers on this guy.
Tomoni tang
Blonde naso tang
Kole tang
Foxface
7 very pretty fairy wrasses - I forget what they're called.
Melanarus wrasse
I'm looking to add a large school of anthias. I've been looking for longfin or sailfin anthias. Relatively hard to find though even before this... I'll just be patient.

Corals are doing great in there. The light is different from my other systems so I'm acclimating them to it slowly.

For light I'm using 3 400 watt metal halides, 4 radion g5s, 8 t5s and 4 reefbright uv/blue.

For flow I'm using 4 MP 60s, and 2 jebao crossflows.

I've got most of my sticks in there, half of my euphyllia, and a few montis. I'll get some pics up as soon as the soundproofing material comes in for the canopy and stand skin comes in cause its not in presentation stage yet. Shipping coming from China is super slow right now though... :jin:

Time to share a few update pics. Tried this panoramic photo option on my pixel for my tank shot. It's hard to photograph everything at once with blues on as it seems to all turn green at greater than 6 feet away from the tank. Also, it still looks very green Eve with the orange filter on. At some point I'd like to find time to break out the dslr but... not today.PANO_20200706_231142.vr.jpg

Finally got the sound dampening outer skin for the canopy and stand. Going to try to apply it sometime soonish... :)
