Need Advice on setting up 150 Gallon Reef

I bet you have your computer hooked to it haha. My son does w his. He loves the puter games. I would too if I were that coordinated! I had 2 salt water aq before but its when I lived in FL on the bay so I hauled my water, critters & food home everyday when I went snorkeling. Thats what really got me hooked. I never get to see the ocean now since my significant other does not like the water. I miss it sooo much. Guess thats why I wanted a little piece of it in my home so I can enjoy watching them everyday.

Nothing wrong with wanting ocean in the house.. All in due time it will come together.. The most important thing is not to rush it..

LoL.. No need for a ladder.. Its on the garage floor so I could reach it..

Well I figure that it's truthfully going to take me awhile to buy each part I will need & then when I get all that then I will try to just get the live rock going for at least a month or 2 before I ever even ad fish of any sort. There is alot of thought to be put into that too since not all of them get along. I also need some that are easier to keep for beginners like me. I like the idea of feeding pellets too if possible. I caught tiny shrimp from the bay to feed my menagerie so this is different & I am not so sure about which kind of food to feed what I haven't even got yet haha. Do you use pellets w yours or chopped meat, shrimp? In a couple of months maybe yall can give me a idea on what kinds of fish are good for beginners & believe me I will definitely take your advise to heart. I don't want to loose any fish

I'm right around the corner as well on hiway 92. I keep water, salt and other items on hand most always ,for future reference. I have some carpenter skills if you need them as well.

Good morning
Thank you GT! I bet I'm going to have to have a lighting unit built for my tank so I will definitely need help with that. As soon as I get the tank here I will be sure to share pics with everybody. It has a nice oak cabinet under it but nothing on top. I'm glad you live so close :)
I hope all you guys have a very nice Christmas & a happy new year!

Welcome! You came to the right place for help. You stumbled into the right place for good people and great help. I got water in my tank and then studied, asked tons of questions of these guys and have gotten nothing but great advice. Welcome to ARC.

Hi Everybody
Dad called & cant lift it to bring it to me so I'm going to get it myself haha. Should be interesting to see how I'm going to load this thing by myself. The measurements are 6ft long by 3ft wide. Is that a 150 gallon? Wish me luck lol

Who was it on here that loves parrots? I cant remember :) Call me at 678-363-5934 when you get a chance. I am thinking about placing my Lesser Sulfur & his kings cage & playstand. I have a video of him on you tube at

Both of these were taken around Christmas & he is a great bird. NOT a plucker or a biter. Even lets my 5 year old hold him. I want a really good home for him :)

WHAT???

6ft long and 3ft wide - even at only 20" in height would already be 225gal, 24"tall already 270gal and 30tall a mind whopping 336gal

Wanna swap tank with me? LOL

Killer tank!

the cabinet is really pretty but its got to be sanded & re-stained or something! Guess I will be buying plenty of sandpaper tomorrow! The tank is just a little dusty so do I use vinegar & water to clean it or bleach?
