Need Help with ID

I know this post will get some grief because I don't have a picture, but my phone camera really doesn't get any thing clearer than a gray orb.

I just saw a round white/gray, perfectly round, pea sized sac with very short, hair like appendages, attached to a star polyp coral. I assume it is some sort of egg sack.

Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated. If you think it would be safer to remove it than to wait and see, please let me know.

I have a bunch of those in my sump,overflows,etc..... filter feeders and harmless as far as I know. But a pic would help
