A few months ago I got a new Netgear Router and Netgear WNCE2001 (bridge) gaming adapter and was using my iPhone and ipad to control my Apex with no issues until just recently.... Don't know if there is a connection but I got an iPad mini and have been using it most of the time and everything was fine with the mini but my (regular) iPad and iPhone started giving me a 503 (ERROR) :SERVICE UNAVAILABLE.

Yesterday my iPad mini started timing out...been timing out off and on for the last two days. More off than on so I can't control with any of my Apple devices now.

I've tried several typical fixes, rebooting, checked IP, Host, Port, expanded the duration, etc..with no luck.
It's a real problem for me since I've never controlled my Apex any other way,
Anyone know what might be causing this issue?
Thanks

Allot of ISPs will change your IP address every other month, or so. Have you gone to whatsmyipaddress.com, and verified that it is the same?

Also: With working with another member's problem, they did a search from their machine (iPad in your case), and had to re-discover the iPad...

I use DYNDNS service ($25/year). I don't have to worry about my public IP address changing. If you reboot your apex network, sometime it assigns new internal IP address. In this case, you need to find out what a new IP address is and update Neptune app (host field).

Or you can disable your DHCP on your network setup. that's way your HomeIP will not change if you reboot your apex.

Great. I just overlooked this one. just disabled it.

Thank you

As stated above guys I checked IP address. I've got a "Static" IP setup"where it cant change, I believe that's what it's called, lol. I read where security is low in this mode, is this why your paying $25 for "protection"...?

And CdezAqu

I'm not sure what your referring to on this? Could you please explain? Thanks
Thanks

Anything else anyone?

You did good to get the static IP address. That's a great help.

What we had to do before was a simple search for Neptune networks on the iPad. Its an option on the very first screen when opening the software. Somehow something had changed and this was the only thing that worked after days of trying to reconfigure what we had.

Also: Neptune's customer service is top notch. They are very patient and knowledgeable. Give them a shot.

I have mines hardware because my buddy who is an IT person and also uses the apex told me that the gaming adaptor isn't really that reliable. So instead I got an Ethernet switch and just hooked my apex up to that. Besides, I had my whole house wired for Ethernet cables but never got it hooked up so this was my chance anyways. It's been working great so far.

Also, for those that haven't found out yet and for those that can figure it out, if your using GMX mail to have email alerts, the apex firmware isn't working with GMX right now (found that out after nearly 3 hours to digging with my IT friend) so they released a "get you by for now" firmware to work with GMX mail. This happened about a week or two ago so it's fairly new intel. So for those that haven't checked your email alerts lately, you want want to try and send a test email to much sure it's still working.

I was told by "control freak" to buy the Wnce2091 gaming adapter, that's what he said most everyone uses. Most of us aren't as lucky as you to have the house wired for Ethernet
