what kind of lights are in it? is it 2 rows of leds? 1 white and 1 blue? lights look strong but u can see a clear line between the colors

yes, it is 2 rows of LED stunner strips. the lights do not really mix. i kind of like how the rock is blue in back and white in front. i think it will be cool to see how the fish look going from blue to white. be a while for that but looking forward to it.

my suggestion is not to put too many fish in there too fast. i just started a tank and that was my mistake. lost a few fish

i am guessing that in 3 more weeks or so, middle of august, i will let my daughter pick the first fish, them a month later, i will add another one. them a month after i want to add a coco worm or feather duster.

when i started i added 3 feather duster like 2 weeks with a couple of tangs. lost all the feather duster and 1 of the tangs.

why would you add a couple tangs to a Bc..

quick update. its been 3 weeks since i added water, rock and sand. just bought 6 naserrious snails and 6 small hermits. first fish maybe next weekend. tested water SG 1.022, PH 8.0 (bought buffer to bring it up to 8.4 slowly), ALK 5ppm or about 2.0 meq/l i think, nitrate, nitrite, and ammonia all 0. picture is what final rock work looks like. only the white lights are on in the picture.

PFC Deitz, thanks. i hope, when i get fish, they will like it too. i tried to create a cave type place or swimthru for the fish to hide and play around in. i am hoping that with the splitter on the return, i can get flow thru the opening and not have any dead spots. i will probably see about getting a Koralia for christmas (the kids can afford to get me one) and put it on the back wall aiming thru the rock.

Go with a Mp10. I put one on my BC 29 and love it.

I went bare bottom and have mine cranked a little and the fish love it

LOL! I think we ALL want an MPsomething! MP10 though, $260 new. Koralia, $30 new. HUGE price difference. An MP10 IS in my tank's future but there are other priorities when starting out.

Mc, tank is looking good! Wise to take it slow. I put water in my tank June 6 and have only had fish for a little over a week now. Slow and steady definitely wins this race!

Thank you Red, Pateince is not my strong suit but i am trying. I think it is pretty neat just watching the snails come out of the sand to eat and watching the hermits crawl around (wife looked at me funny for sitting by the tank watching). so hopefully that will help me take it slow. not looking for clowns cuz it seems like everybody does one. and do not want damsels. may do a dwarf flame angel for my first fish. also like the royal gramma. any suggestion other than clown for first fish?

Haha! How about clowns?! I understand about the clowns but I love mine. When I come over to the tank now they swim right up to my face and I've only had them a week!

Whatever you do go passive on all but the last fish. Have you looked at fire fish? I've seen people keep pairs of those. A goby/shrimp combo might be a nice addition as well as a smaller wrasse like a six line. Put the dwarf angel in last. I've read mixed reviews on the royal gramma. I have NO personal experience with any of the fish except the clowns though and that's only a week. Definitely research not just this site but others when planning your stocking list.

Hopefully others with more experience will chime in.

when i got home last night, i noticed 4 trails of white spots. 2 on the back, and one on each side of my tank. i left them alone. should i keep them or scrape them off. here is a cell phone picture of one of the trails. hope it helps .
