You could probably get away with six 400mhs 24" above the water with really good reflectors, with the 400s I'd use 20k bulbs

How often are you changing water? Any plans to upgrade the sump, skimmer and UV?
Go cheap and get a 100 or 150g rubbermaid feed tank from a farm/tractor store and roll with it.NOPIMAN;562398 wrote: I've changed out about 100g every 3 months. As far as upgrades, no immediate plans unless I find out there's something I need to do to insure there welfare of the system. A refugum seems to be my next equipment ad-on i'm focused on.

Nope. Only if it is a display fuge. Bottom line it is used for nutrient export and a place to replenish pods and other small organisms for your tankNOPIMAN;562401 wrote: I dont think I've ever seen a farm or tractor store around here... I'll check into that though. So the refugium doesn't need to be clear for any reason?

I'm running four 250s over my tank with great growth tank is 84"x24"x24",bulb hieght from water 12" above the water some may say this is two high but I've bleached corals by raising to high on the rocks and fined they do best at 8" and below here's pic of my curent lighting on that tank

Amici;571334 wrote: That is one awesome sized tank. The issue though with a tank that size is getting corals placed correctly. What I would suggest is concentrating your lighting over certain areas of the rock work and placing corals accordingly. I would place some hardy SPS up top, moderate light softies and LPS in the middle and polyps/kenya trees down on the bottom. You may have to look at altering the way your lights are hung in order to make it easier to keep corals.
