I recently purchased a reefoctopus DNW110 recirculating skimmer from Jef4y and have it installed on my 29 gal. biocube. Its breaking in nicely but have some quick questions.

1. I have the output going to my third chamber where my ATO is. Will this mess with my Avastmarine pressure activated ATO? My feed pump is in the second chamber, btw.

2. The output is makes a splashing sound and I was wondering if there is anything I could do to muffle the sound?

you could DIY it for cheaper.

I have a recirc skimmer too and love mine. I am not familiar with a pressure switch for an ato but anything that can cause even small waves can trip a lot of float switches. To muffle the splashing on mine i adjusted the return water pipe so that it was just barely under the water level. Mine has a removeable pipie that extends past the gate valve and has a 90 deg bend. You may have to adjust/modify the length of it or make a new one from pvc. Then I rotated the pipe about 30 degrees till one side was out of the water so it didnt cause back pressure on the skimmer. I also slip a small drawstring felt sock over the end.

LOL $30 what a rip!!!

But a T on there with a pipe on both ends and cap on the top. Drill four holes in the cap and call it done!
Mine cost about $5 I don't see how some companies sleep at night!

Skimmer output should not mess with the ATO sensor unless it is making a wave in that section of the sump.
