new tank to me

i just picked up a tank from my buddy a 18x36x24 high :yay:and it has some old dry coraline algae on it :sad: that i aleast want off the front, white vinegar?

Just did a a tank myself it will take you like 10 min probably. Take a 50/50 water vinegar mixture (spray on and let soak). Take a 4in razor blade and scrape it off. It comes of like a champ.

spent about 3 hours scraping yesterday fingers are sore as heck. used straight vinegar, guess i didn't let it soak long enough.

Soaking it with white vinegar usually does the trick. Probably just didn't sit long enough. I try to avoid razors, etc at all cost due to potential scratching.

Yea soaking it is the trick. I did a 150 gal tank in no time at all and it was pretty bad!
