~New to saltwater - 29gal w/15 gal sump~

Tank still had all levels at 0 today so we went to our lfs and got 2 Chromis, 2 Astrea Snails & 2 Red Legged Hermits :D Hopefully our Chromis do good! We do have fully cured and cycle live rock that is very mature.
Had all 460nm lights on, sorry so blue!

Always fun to finally get some fish in the tank. FWIW, I have the same cloudy sand. I will NOT be using it on my next build. I still get constant sand storms that deposit sand on everything.

I especially like that orange one that "hangs" out by the glass all the time. :-) hehehe Happy for you. So much fun when you finally get to start stocking things. Good luck and keep the pics coming.

Yes now I want more fish lol! We washed it ALOT and the with the powerheads and critters it hasn't gotten cloudy, just a few sand particles float around :)

Congrats on being so patient with the build and taking your time to do it right the first time! 9 months of patients will pay off in the long run! Glad to see your diy rock did so well!

Thanks.. patience definitely pays off! ;) DIY saves alot of money.. more people should do it lol. Our water is pretty perfect, all tests are A+ everytime.. we have had diatoms, hair algae & cyano but they've come and gone for the most part. We're so glad the rock did so good, took 4-5 months for it to finally cure but it was well worth it.

Picked up new coral frags today!! Frogspawn, hammer coral, yellow polyps, neon green mushrooms & zoanthids (not sure of the kind yet) : D

Diatoms and algae in a new tank is very common, pretty much happens to every one in the first few months of the tanks life.

Thanks again Jim! If we can have our tank look anything like yours we'll know we have succeeded. Your tank is amazing! Research and time definitely pays off. Also, knowing someone in the hobby who knows a lot doesn't hurt either! We'll keep in touch & you've got to come by and see ours one day :) Oh, and you're welcome.. let us know if you need/want anything.
