Newbie Question

So I bought a frag of Frog Spawn a couple weeks ago and it has 2 heads. Wellll a couple days ago a turbo snail was stuck to one side and the Froggy COMPLETELY closed up one head. Like there are no tentacles visible on that one head. Is this ok? Is it dead? Should I do anything? It looks horrible.

It's possible that it's just aggravated and closed. Leave it be for a few days and see if they don't come back out.

Yea should be fine. I had one close for a week or so and it came back.

That happens when i knock mine over. It will open up again in a day or so

So here's the deal. Today there is one head that is not fully extended and one what appears to be an empty skeleton head. Where could it have gone?

Were both heads out and happy when you first got it? How are your other corals doing? Have you tested for water quality?

Both heads were out when I bought it. And I had the water tested and everything is great. I took a look at it and there doesn't seem to be anything there. It looks completely empty.

just under the tentacle there should be some tan fleshy component. is it still there or is it simply skeleton? is the area white or still brownish ?

It's all bony and white.

It is common for lps like bubble frog spawn and hammer , even more so branching to flop around during transport or in to high flow and the calcerius points and ridges of the skleleton cuts and tears the flesh which usually does eventually die.
Some coral heal and repair well , but some lps just can't.
If this is the case it doesn't nesecerally mean you killed it , it may have happened during its trip from Fiji , most coral is injured after collection , were far more careful as hobbiest than divers they crack it off sack it up n toss stuff about I'm sure a great deal more than we would like to think.
Just give it some time , if it doesn't bounce back , be patient before long someone will have one needing thinning 2 heads turn to 20 in 18months

Thank you. I've been quite worried about it and then when I came home today a found that it looked like a skeleton I completely freaked. I hope the other head is ok.
