Hey everybody,
Today i was at Marine Designs and a small, good looking Niger trigger caught my eye. He is a young trigger and is about 1.5 in. I talked to the guy there and he said that most likely that it will not eat corals since it is young (i dont have many corals in my tank anyways) and on top of that that it would probably eat my cleaner shrimp and emerald crabs. My cleaner shrimp is about 3 inches long and is much larger than the trigger. My question is...will the trigger eat the shrimp even though it has been in the tank for about 3 months and it is much larger...or should i just forget about the trigger?
Thanks

Is it worth it to find out?

There is a pink tail trigger and a fire shrimp in the 90 in my kitchen. I have observed the fire shrimp riding on and performing "cleaner-shrimp-esque" behavior while the trigger was in the rocks. No signs of predator/prey interaction between them.

I have a blue jaw and a gold coral banded and a peppermint shrimp....so far so good

I have a Blue jaw myself, they are suppose to be reef safe, I've had no issues for the 2 years I had him, the cleaner shrimp actually clean him! But the Niger, it will most likely eat your shrimp, if not right away, eventually.
