no poly is a very thick filter designed to remove toxins.
the octo might only be a small part of the issue here.
a WC is advised asap. the WC is always a good 1st step with issues like this. its still pretty unclear if the octo puts out a toxin when it dies. ive heard it both ways. still i wouldnt take my chances.
i had a seahare die and it inked like crazy as soon as i touched it to remove it. do a WC, run some poly and carbon asap until a solution presents itself or you know whats going on. none of these things i mentioned will do any harm to the tank or its livestock.
only positive things can come from it.
bottom line, when i have a issue i do a water test, usually save extra water for later tests, WC, renew my carbon, and call jenn lol.
ok i usually call jenn first but i know her RX requirements ahead of time lol.
