Anyone have any experience with this older unit? The only info I can find is on an old post on RC. Aqua Medic (North America) can't supply any info. I have emailed the home office in Germany, but I haven't heard anything yet. Found a new one http://thereefshop.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=142">http://thereefshop.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=142</a> But still no information.

I would not order one that is out of production, particularly at that price. Look a the Avast Marine K1 or K2 Kalk Stirrers. Easily the most user friendly ones on the market. I have a K2 on my 465 gallon tank and I love mine. K1 is $209, K2 is $259. You can even buy these in you build it kit form for $149 for the K1 and $189 for the K2. The Aqua-Medic models work, but they are vastly overpriced, and most comments about the expensive Aqua-Medic and Deltec kalk stirrers are "why are these so expensive when the acrylic they are made of is so cheap?"

If you are going to pay $330 US dollars (AU$360) and international shipping for that unit, I would look domestic options like the GEO, MRC, Precision Marine, or the Avast Units I have already described. Comparable or better quality, and easy parts/service availablilty.
