I purchased a few peppermints yesterday and one appears to have an isopod attached. I thought about taking him back to the store and it is still off to the side for return today.

I'm just wondering the downfalls of adding him to the main tank or feeding him to the mantis... I mean, it's probably going to die anyway.

I'd consider removing it but, surgery on a shrimp just doesn't seem like the rite idea.

Got a pic? I've seen them with "lumps" before and it's more of a deformity and sometimes goes away after a molt.

Not saying it "can't" be an isopod... just another theory.

If it IS a parasitic isopod, I'd get it the heck outta my tank - those things are a scourge to get rid of.

I took it back to the store. They were cool with it. The lump did appear to be under the shell since it had stripes over it but, I wasn't taking any chances.
