Just got a small frogspawn about a week ago and this morning with the moon lights on noticed a peppermint shrimp attacking it. Why? and is there anything I can do to the frogspawn to help it recover. He ripped about 1/3 of it up pretty good. Really upsetting!

I've never know pepps to do that.. sure there wasn't something on there like aptaisa or something sort of food it was after?

I was also told by Chris (Einstein's Aqua) that if the pepps run out of food... they go for coral... just a thought.

You can cover your frog spawn with a coke bottle top with holes in it for circulation.

This reminds me... i need to get a few pepps...

Are you sure it's a Peppermint shrimp and not a Camel shrimp?

That's most unusual. If the coral was failing, I can see a shrimp scavenging the dying tissue, but I've never seen a Peppermint harm an LPS coral.

I added a few pep to my frag tank and they took out one of my frogspawn but left the others alone. Not sure why they picked on that one.

Make sure they get plenty of food and you hopefully you will be ok.
